24 boats turned up to Chew Valley for the Flying Fifteen Inland Championships. Four races held on Saturday with the winds between 10 and 15 knots with lots of shifts to be taken, with Richard Lovering and Matt Alvarado scoring a 2,3,1,1 putting them joint leaders with Ian Cadwallader and Dave Sweet.
Sunday saw the winds ranging from 4 to 10 knots with some big shifts to be had. Richard and Matt managed a big come back in race 1 on Sunday to get a 4th place. Race two was better with the 2 leaders going on for an extra lap when it was the finish which gave Richard and Matt a 3rd. Richard says "Last race was all to play for, we did not get a great first beat which left us pretty close to the back of the fleet but with some great speed from the new design jib and the 2017 mainsail design we manage to claw our way back to 4th to take the win by 3 point from local boat Ian and Dave, with 3rdplace going to Jeremy Davy and Martin Huett.
Look forward to seeing everyone at HISC in 2 weeks for the Bulwark open.
