It was an excellent showing for Hyde sails at the recent Fireball European and National Championship held at Lyme Regis. The real stars of the show were Ian Dobson and Richard Wagstaff who stepped into a new boat and won the practice race – they then went on to win a further 2 races in the main event. A black flag and a rather shifty last day made life difficult for them and they had to be content with 2nd place at the Nationals and 3rd in the Europeans. Ian – who is current GP14 champion was very pleased with the speed and how easy it was to use the sails through the wind range. The ever steady Dave Hall and Paul Constable started the week well in the breeze and ended up 8th but as Dave admits he is not a fan of light winds and the last day proved a struggle so it was a week of ‘could have been’

It was good to see so many boats in the fleet with Hyde sails – a result of the past few seasons work is starting to pay dividends for all our customers.
