The Mirror Southern Championship was contested over 4 races in Chichester harbour with the popular class venue of Itchenor Sailing Club once again hosting the event.

Conditions would prove challenging for the race team and competitors who had 4-8 knots of wind and a strong spring tide to contend with. National Champions, Ben & Keira McGrane showed superb consistency to record 2, 1, 1, 2 across the series to win comfortably.

Ben’s thoughts after the racing, ‘It was superb to be out racing again with a good size fleet of 25 boats, relatively small courses meant it was a pretty busy day. Very happy with our speed which I think we have improved particularly in this lighter stuff with a bit more time in the boat and small refinements to our settings.’

Also a great result for Terry & Charlie Hunt placing 6th overall also using a new set of Hyde Sails.
